A small independent hotel in the Trossachs National Park, in the conservation village of Saint Fillans. Individual, spacious rooms in the house, chalets on the wooded hillside, and a self-catering apartment with its own front door.
The main house
Every front room looks seven miles west.
All the front-facing rooms of the main hotel hold the view down Loch Earn, with flat-screen TVs, tea and coffee, hairdryers, mood lighting, USB chargers and mobile broadband through the building. Two Highland Four Poster rooms keep the original house's character, and the West Wing Studio adds a super-king and a sofa bed for the flexible party.

The chalets
A log cabin on the hill, a bit 60s funky.
Two of the chalets are the very ones The Beatles slept in, in October 1964, kept a bit retro on purpose. The hillside chalets sleep families across two bedrooms, some with ships' style suspension bunks the children fight for, all with TV, tea and coffee and a mini-fridge, and you park at your own door. Family chalet rates come direct from the hotel on 01764 685 333.
Vivaldi's apartment
Self-catering, hotel-fed.
For the independent traveller there is Vivaldi's: a two-bedroom self-catering apartment with its own entrance, booked on a minimum of five nights, with every facility of the hotel a corridor away. A popular choice for film and TV crews: the Outlander team, Gerard Butler, Robson Green and Gemma Cairney have all stayed. The fame, though, is for the original boy band.

Dogs, cats and all other animals
Pet friendly, not pet tolerant.
Their words, and they mean them: all pets stay free, welcomed by Finn and the team with a complimentary treat. Dog blankets in the bar, with treats, toys and water bowls; dog beds and towels at reception. Pet Concierge from £15 an hour: dog walking on the munros and trails, pet-sitting for a night out, a canine menu, booked with the Resident Canine Reservation Manager. Pet-free rooms are kept for those travelling without.
